Line Dancing Hoe Down
On Friday, March 5th, a line dancing Hoe Down is being held in the Basement, Murtagh's commencing at 9pm. This is a fundraising event organised to help fund Ronan Daly to embark on a house building project in Bangladesh with Habitat for Humanity. If you are a line dancer why not come along for an enjoyable night on the floorboards and support this worthy cause. If you are not a line dancer and have wondered what exactly a Hoe Down is why not come along and see for yourself. Who knows the bug might bite. There will be a raffle held on the night. Training for Marathons
First night of training went ahead as planned Monday, March 22nd at 7.30pm. Thanks to the group that participated. It was a cold crisp night but we all managed to get warm after the warm-up joy and pre-stretches. We then managed without any red faces to do a 2.2 mile run as planned. Each week we hope to add some millage and build up some strength and speed. If anyone wishes to join us to get fit and active, do so each Monday evening 7.30 in Murtagh's Bar for pre-run, pep talk and route planner. Remember all fitness levels welcome, walkers and runners. The Parents Association was saddened to learn of the recent death of Principal Adrian Jackson's father and extends its condolences to the Jackson family. A contingent of teachers and students representing the school traveled to Cork to attend the services.
The next meeting of the Parents Association will be held in the Community School on Tuesday, 9th March, 8pm. All parents of current students, particularly 1st years, are cordially invited to attend for a discussion on various issues and an update from school management.

Community Survey: We are currently seeking the opinions of the local community about our Family Resource Centre. Do you use the Family Resource Centre? Do you know what it offers? Leitrim Addictions Awareness: On Thurs 4th March at 7.30pm, Breffni Family Resource Centre will host the 1st Shared Platform in Co. Leitrim, the aim of which is to raise awareness of the issues connected with addictions. All members of the community are invited to attend to find out what supports are available and to listen to speakers from various fellowships such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Food Addicts Anonymous, Al Anon and Co Dependents Anonymous. This Shared Platform will assist in breaking down taboos around addiction and in the words of the Bill W Clun coordinator, it will "bring addiction issues out of the darkness and into the light".

Breffni Pre-School September 2010 Intake: Breffni Childcare operates a well established Pre-School service that is HSE approved and operated by qualified and experienced staff. From January 2010, Breffni is offering the Free Pre-School scheme (ECCE) to qualifying children. The Pre-School service operates from 9.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday for 38 weeks per year, i.e. generally based on school-term system.

Beyond Yoga
