Leitrim County Council has requested the transfer of a plot of land from Leitrim VEC at St George's Terrace, Carrick-on-Shannon to allow them to widen the road.
Leitrim VEC members were informed of the request at the February monthly meeting. CEO, John Blunnie said the Council are requesting the transfer of a piece of land adjacent to the VEC Administrative Office at St George’s Terrace.

The piece of land in question is currently occupied by an old shed at the far side of the VEC building. Mr Blunnie said the Council wish to widen the road and provide a footpath on the area down to the marina.

A sub committee of Leitrim VEC had examined the maps and agreed to the Council’s request. Mr Blunnie said the request must be approved by the Department of Education before the deal can be finalised.
