Yoga teachers graduate from Leitrim

On a blustery day in July, the first set of new yoga teachers gathered on the decks of Ard Nahoo Yoga School for their graduation. The graduates had completed a ten month program, which, on completion, leaves them qualified to teach yoga anywhere in the world.

“I’m over the moon with the graduates” says course director Noeleen Tyrrell. “It’s been a lot of work, and it took real dedication, but everyone has transformed over the year. I couldn’t be happier with the standard of their teaching, and the development of their practice”

The students came from all over Ireland, with four from Leitrim and Sligo, several from Mayo and others from Dublin. Each month, they came to Ard Nahoo Yoga School for an intense weekend training, as well as a residential course in March. Ard Nahoo is just outside the village of Dromahair, and Tyrrell believes that “the fact that we’re in quite a remote location means that we’re ideal for a training like this. There’s no hustle and bustle, just the peaceful Leitrim countryside to look at out of the studio”

Tyrrell is now preparing for the start of the 2012 course, which starts in October. “We’ve already had the first induction day, where anyone who’s interested can come along to meet me, see Ard Nahoo and take a yoga class. It’s a great way to meet everyone and to see where you’ll be studying.”

The next induction day is to be held on Saturday 18th August, at 10am and is free of charge. Visit www.ardnahoo.com
