All of the monies raised from sale of the calendars will go directly to the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.
A selection of the children’s pictures entered into the competition will be displayed in store prior to the announcement of the winning 12 pictures. Each winning artist will receive a complete IKEA arts and craft set worth €100 as well as a €900 community donation to their school or young people’s group they represent. The calendar will cost €5 and goes on sale in store from October 29.
Commenting on the wonderful support from IKEA Ireland, Philomena Dunne, CEO, LauraLynn Children’s Hospice said, “We are thrilled that IKEA have chosen to support LauraLynn and are creating a wonderful calendar to raise much needed funds for us. We would urge everyone to enter their picture for the IKEA children’s art competition, and help us care for more children and families who need us across Ireland! We are very grateful to IKEA and all their customers for choosing to support LauraLynn.”
LauraLynn Hospice is IKEA Ireland’s local charity of the year for 2012 and supports children with life limiting conditions and their families. This is the second year of involvement by IKEA. LauraLynn Hospice Project was set up in 2001 as a result of an enormous personal tragedy in the lives of Jane and Brendan McKenna which saw them lose both of their precious daughters Laura and Lynn in the space of just two years.
