GOLDEN AGE MEETING
There will be a Golden Age meeting in the Community Centre Drumsna on to-day Wednesday November 18th at 11am. This is Th
e A.G.M. and all members are requested to attend. The Christmas party is just around the corner and details for this Annual event are up for discussion. We also have a visit to the Theatre before the Christmas holidays.
THE WEDDING
The wedding is almost upon us, just a few days to go until Saturday, November 21st when Gobnaith McLoopy and Fachtna O Magoteen pledge their love for each other. Franc has done Trojan work with the arrangements. The wedding cake has been iced and stands in all its glory in Gannon's (Woodcarvers) window together with the front page covers of the last four issues of "Goodbye" magazine.
The bride is suffering from nerves and is afraid she'll come out in a rash before Saturday. The hen party was a bit of a disaster as Fachtna tried to gate crash and was removed in a stranglehold by the bride's mother. This upset both the bride and groom. Fachtna and his bestmen seem to be on a bit of a binge since the Stag party last weekend and would need to settle down before the big day. The ''Goodbye'' magazine people have been following the Bridal Party for some time and the strain of it all on the O Magoteens and the McLoopys is beginning to show. The Visitors have all arrived including The Mayor of Dromara and entourage who are enjoying a return visit to Drumsna. The Wedding Ceremony takes place at 9.30pm on Saturday night in the Bush Hotel, Carrick. Please be in time or you will miss ''The Wedding of the year.'' The ceremony is followed by a finger food buffet and dancing to Gerry Keenan. There will be Invitations on sale at the door in case for some reason you still haven't got yours. All monies collected go to defray the debt on The Drumsna Community Centre and your support will be very much appreciated. Drumsna Development Association wish to thank the Editor and staff of the Leitrim Observer for their co-operation in publicising the Wedding through these notes over the past number of weeks.
