Carbon Dioxide Festival is cancelled

Glenade's one day dance music festival has been cancelled.

Glenade's one day dance music festival has been cancelled.

Announcing the cancellation of Glenade’s Co2fest on facebook last week organisers David McGloin and Kieran Malaniff said “We fell at the hands of the legal system.”

The electronic dance music event plus camping was due to take place in a field in Glenade on July 14 with the IRadio Hijackers and DJ Fergal Darcy, as well as DJtrolley and Paul Carass. “We are devastated that we must scrap a project that we have worked solidly on for 6 months, it started as a joke, we progressed it, and caught the imagination of Glenade, Leitrim and the North West. “This has being an experience to say the least, for the past 6 months, its all we have done, very stressful at times and downright frustrating, and at times extremely enjoyable.”

The lads put such a big effort to make the event happen and to prove those who criticised them as wrong, but it was not meant to be. The pair thanked everyone who supported their event. The Co2fest had gathered great interest from around the north west and further afield. Dave and Kieran had sourced a venue but less than three weeks away from the big day they had to pull the plug on the whole thing for legal reasons. All tickets purchased will be refunded and patrons who bought tickets are asked to email info@co2fest.com.

All hope is however not lost and David and Kieran are going to try something of a smaller scale hopefully before October, they ask revellers “Don’t desert us just yet!”
