TWENTY textile artists, including Leitrim’s Ruth Duignan will exhibit at the Knitting and Stitching Show in the RDS from November 1- 4.

The exhibition has been coordinated by the Crafts Council of Ireland (CCoI) in conjunction with their member organisation.

Ruth Duignan’s amazing, layered and landscaped dress will form part of the exhibition. Ruth used cotton, tweed linen and other materials and used her keen embroidery and other dressmaking skills on the piece.

As many as 23,000 are expected for the four day event and advance ticket sales for this year’s Show are already up 30%.

Each featured artist has used a variety of techniques, such as knitting, stitching, embroidery, dressmaking and more to produce stunning works inspired by the environments in which the various artists from throughout the country live and work. The Knitting & Stitching Show is the largest textile and crafting event in Ireland and hosts one of the largest exhibitions of patchwork in Europe.

Over four jam packed days the Show’s Learning Curve presents over 90 workshops on everything from the basic getting started to more advanced master classes in felt making, cross stitching and millinery techniques.

The Knitting & Stitching Show is a complete craft and fun experience for novice and experienced hands. From picking up needles for the very first time, to advancing abilities, sourcing from the largest selection of yarn and materials suppliers under one roof to inspiring galleries of patchwork and accessories, the four day event is a must attend.
