Moone Boy, the Boyle based, SKY TV comedy series written by Chris O’Dowd and starring Carrigallen’s David Rawle has been nominated for an impressive five awards in the upcoming Irish Film and Television Awards.

The hilarious show based in the early 1990s had a successful first series and is preparing for the second series to be aired later this year. The Show is competing against the likes of ‘Mrs Brown Boys’ in the entertainment category, while the multi talented, Chris O’Dowd has been nominated in the best Supporting Actor Category as well as in the script writing category with co-writer Nick Murphy.

Moone Boy Director Declan Lowney has been nominated for the Best Director Award, and Deirdre O’Kane who plays David Rawle’s mother in Moone Boy is up for Best Supporting Actress.

In even bigger news for Moone Boy fans - Chris O’Dowd has confirmed that Series three is currently being written!

The 10th annual IFTA Awards take place in Dublin on February 9.
