Ronan Collins & Dickie Rock are coming to Carrick-on -Shannon as part of the Reeling In The Showband Years 2013 Nationwide Tour.

“Reeling In The Showband Years” 2013 Nationwide Tour comes to The Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon for the very first time, on Friday, 18th January.

Dickie Rock is this years headline act. He a legend of Irish showbiz and is celebrating 50 years in the music business. Dickie is well known for his hits including “Simon Says”, “From The Candy Store on the Corner” and “Every Step of the Way”.

RTE’s Ronan Collins is will be host and compere on the night. Ronan was drummer in Dickie’s Band in the late 1970’s and both performers are now looking forward to being back on stage together after 30 years. Ronan will also sing his Tribute to Joe Dolan, which was so popular last year.

Mark Leen known as “The Emerald Elvis” will be singing the hits of the man who had the most influence on all the early showbands, Elvis Presley! Mark was recently voted Europe’s No 1 Elvis impersonator and he will be joined by The Conquerors Showband. One of the greatest Showbands of them all and still packing them in everywhere they go.

Now based in Las Vegas, DJ Curtin, the former lead singer with The Kerry Blues Showband & The Big 8 still has that powerful big voice which can cover everything from Tom Jones to Englebert Humperdinck. And DJ is still in demand in the World’s Capital City of Entertainment, Las Vegas, where he lives!

Also in the line-up is ex Showband Show performer, Lorraine McDonald. She is one of the brightest talents to emerge from the latter days of the Showband Boom. A multi talented musician and vocalist she is daughter of Frankie McDonald - Joe Dolan’s trumpet player.

Eurovision stars Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg will also be performing. The brothers represented Ireland in 1975 and 1977. They’ve had 20 hit records throughout their career including “Looking Through The Eyes Of A Beautiful Girl”, “If Ma Could See Me Now”, It’s Nice To Be In Love Again”, “That’s What Friends Are For” etc. The Swarbriggs were the very first showband singers to write and record all their own original material.

The show’s exciting Finale is an all cast salute to the Showband Era. All of the stars join in on stage for a medley of songs from the unique Showband Years bringing you back in time to this magical era. It will send you home with great memories of wonderful and never to be repeated times in Irish popular music
