Leitrim County Council have awarded €200,000 in road funding to widen a stretch of road between Ballinamore and Carrigallen.
Cllr Gordon Hughes asked the District Engineer, further to previous requests, when will the Council widen the roadway R204-10 at Gortahoose, Corrawallen P.O. which presently has steep falls either side of the main road together with a series of dangerous bumps which are posing a significant safety risk to passing traffic.

He was informed that Leitrim County Council have received a Specific Improvement Grant which will enable work to start on this section of road. The work will be carried out later this year subject to agreement being reached with the adjacent landowners.

Cllr Gordon Hughes was joined with Cllr Paddy O'Rourke in welcoming the major funding of €200,000 for this stretch of road.
