The Irish Wheelchair Associations annual fundraiser, the Angels campaign, was launched in the Resource Centre in Carrick on Shannon by Eamon McGowan and his son Eddie last Thursday.
"Our annual Angel campaign allows us to generate the funds to provide essential resources and services to many people with disabilities. Our members rely on us for essential services, such as, personal assistants to support them in their daily living. In these tight times, with reduced funding sources, we are doing our very best to avoid cutting the services we provide to our members in their own homes and in the community. We are asking the general public to support our essential work by buying these lovely angel pins and pencils, " said Sandra O Loughlin Service Co Ordinator.

The Angel Pins and Pencils which each cost w2 will be sold by a network of volunteers in towns and cities throughout the country. They will be on sale for the month of November.
