Glens Rock School: The Annual Glens Rock School and Song-writing Week takes place in the Glens Centre, Manorhamilton from Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21. The Rock School is suitable for all 10-18 years from drummers to electric guitarists to banjo players! The students will break into several bands and will learn songs, write their own songs and play together. On June 21, The Glens will host a Rock School gig on Friday, June 21. O’Rourke’s Stalemate: Seamus O’Rourke’s new comedy ‘Stalemate’ has been a huge success in Longford and Leitrim and now continues on to Roscommon Arts Centre on June 14th & 15th and then to the Civic Theatre, Tallaght on June 19th & 22nd.

Sing to Enniskillen: Leitrim singers are asked to join a unique weekend of singing at The Gyreum Centre, Sligo, starting Friday, June 14 entitled Enniskillen G8 Summit weekend - Voice Of The People project. What makes this event very unique is that the weekend workshop is in fact a rehearsal for a Gala Concert on Monday, June 17 in Enniskillen where the ‘choir’ from the weekend will be joined by Valerie Whitworth and guests on the opening night of the G8 Summit. Hup festival: Plans are now in full swing for the Hup/Connacht Fleadh which begins on June 30th and ends on July 7th. All events and competitions for the week long activities can be viewed on www.hup.ie. It has been 51 years since the Connacht Fleadh was held in Carrick. A special Souvenir Booklet is available for €5 in various outlets.
