The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon have this summer, developed a whole range of creative and fun workshops for children, young people and adults.

The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon have this summer, developed a whole range of creative and fun workshops for children, young people and adults.

The facility have a new series of short summer master-classes for adults and school leavers who want to explore their ideas, learn new skills or develop an on-going practice.

These include workshops which vary from poster design, architecture to dance and music.

Beginning this Saturday, May 16 and running every Saturday until June 13, an Explore and Create Arts Studio with Kate Wilson takes place for 8 to 12 year-olds.

Running from July 13 to 17, and catering for 4 to 12 year olds, a collaborative project between The Dock, Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership and artist Vanya Lambrecht Ward explores both Structure and Architecture.

Throughout the week, the participants will explore many different techniques and materials alongside the lead artist and other invited guests.

Acoustic Motion Camp gets underway on Monday, July 27 and runs until Friday July 31.

This is an exciting week-long arts workshop that will stretch the interests and abilities of young people.

Participants will build skills in musical improvisation, instrumental and voice, and gain experience in dance and theatre.

While a Graphic Design course with Sligo’s Kevin Noone takes place from July 21 to 23.

This is an exciting three day workshop covering an introduction to graphic design, key information for poster making, photography and image generation.

These are just an example of the wide range of courses and masterclasses taking place at The Dock.
