An exhibition to showcase the artistic work created by service users attending the HSE Ballytivnan Training Service will take place in the Pegasus Suite, Clarion Hotel, Sligo on 23 and 24 October.
The art exhibition, which is being held in collaboration with the Clarion Hotel Sligo, will feature a collection of paintings, ceramics and mosaics designed by service users that attend the Ballytivnan Training Centre and is a celebration of the creative talent of artists with a disability.
The exhibition which is called “Artability” will be launched at 11am on Wednesday, October 23 by the Mayor of Sligo, Councillor Marcella McGarry. The exhibition is a combination of individual and group artistic creativity and will include a piece made especially to celebrate the legacy of poet and playwright WB Yeats. Also included is a Mosaic display made by the artists to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic.
Ann Marie Banks, Training Services Manager, Ballytivnan Training Centre says, “The exhibition will help to promote the integration of persons with a disability into arts and cultural activities locally.”
