Charlie McGettigan has lent his songwriting skills to the nation once again. The Donegal native who resides in Drumshanbo, has written a new song for Longford Eurovision hopeful Kat Mahon.

The song, entitled ‘Anybody Got A Shoulder?’is one of five potential songs which will represent Ireland in Vienna in May.

Charlie and Kat will go up against four other Eurovision hopefuls as they vie for the opportunity to travel to one of the semi-finals which take place on the 19th and 21st of May.

The winner will be decided by a mix of public and panel vote after a live performance of each of the tracks on RTE’s The Late Late Show on Friday, February 27.

McGettigan himself is of course no stranger to the Eurovision having famously taken the spoils in 1994 along with Paul Harrington with their hit ‘Rock n’ Roll Kids’. The 64-year-old also appeared as a special guest during the competition’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Copenhagen in 2005.

Kat herself is an experienced singer having performed in front of live audiences with ‘Lilac Blues’, semi-finalists in RTE’s All Ireland Talent Show six years ago. The 28-year-old Newtownforbes native has also supported Indie rockers Delorentos and Corkman John Spillane on recent tours.
