Think you know the Pinocchio story? Think again. Back by popular demand after its Dublin Fringe 2012 run, ‘Tromluí Phinocchio’ Pinocchio – a Nightmare is immersive, fun and bilingual!
Tromluí Phinocchio/ Pinocchio – a Nightmare is the dark and sometimes disturbing story of a young boy’s journey through a dangerous adult world.
Pinocchio is a young teenager; a wooden boy who doesn’t feel like he belongs.
The show won the title of “Best Irish Language Show of 2012” in The Irish Times and was also named one of the “Top 10 Theatre Productions of 2012” by Entertainment.ie.
After having such positive reactions at the Dublin Fringe Festival and during the Smock Alley AntiPanto run, the show is back on the road and comes to The Dock on March 6th as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge 2013.
Moonfish’s adaptation tells the original Italian story through a mixture of Irish and English.
The cast create the music, sound effects and lighting live on- stage to evoke the magic of Pinocchio’s world and, at the same time, to share how that magic is created.
This show shines an alternative light on the famous story. Tar linn isteach i ndomhain dorcha, draoíchtúil áit a mbuailfear le puipéidí, le taibhsí, agus le hainmhithe go bhfuil bua na cainte acu.
Enter the dark side of this classic tale and take a roller-coaster ride through a magical and sinister world, peopled by live puppets, talking animals and ghosts. Suitable for ages 11+.
