The Autumn exhibition in The Dock opens on Friday, October 4 at 6pm. The exhibition features two solo shows of new work by painter Ann Quinn and sculptor Barbara Knezevic.
Donegal painter, Ann Quinn will present a selection of new paintings entitled ‘Metamorphosis Created by Distance’ - a journey of change that takes place both inwardly and in the outside world. It is a journey from the magical landscapes of Donegal where the artist spent her childhood. The journey proceeds through visions of Dublin, Kildare, Spain, India and other places in the world where she travelled.
Australian-born, Dublin-based artist Barbara Knezevic will present an array of new sculptures and artworks comprised of wax, salt, steel, marble, fabric and rubber in her exhibition entitled ‘Where exists a remnant’. These materials are moulded, bent, stacked and assembled into arrangements that recall monuments, markers and signifying structures. The sculptures make use of various materials for expressive and poetic effects.
You will have a chance to hear about both artist’s work on the evening of the opening, where they will be available to answer questions about their work. The exhibitions open at 6pm on Friday 4th October and all are welcome along. Gallery opening hours are 10am- 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am – 5pm on Saturday. Admission is free to all exhibitions in the galleries.
This exhibition is made possible through the continued assistance of Leitrim County Council and The Arts Council.
