For the third successive year, The Dock has been shortlisted for the 2012 IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year Awards which will be held at IMRO headquarters in Dublin on Tuesday 26 February.

The award recognises the Irish venues which deliver the very best standards in live music entertainment. The Dock made the shortlist following an online poll of more than 7,000 IMRO members who were asked to vote for their top choices.

Venues have been judged on their ambience, staging, sound and lighting facilities, the diversity of their music programming, the staff and management at each venue and the work they undertake in promoting the venue and its programme of music events.

The IMRO Live Music Venue of the Year Awards acknowledge the immense efforts made by music venues across Ireland, through the provision of world class entertainment for their customers, their vital contribution to local economies and the significant role they play in providing a public platform for Irish songwriters and performers.

The Dock’s appearance on this year’s shortlist is in recognition of the venue’s on-going high quality music programme which has offered audiences in the region the opportunity to enjoy a host of local national and international performers throughout the past year.

The high quality music programme continues this week with performances by The Unthanks and Get The Blessing on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd.

The Dock’s live music programme is made possible through the continuing assistance of Leitrim County Council and The Arts Council.
