A public meeting is being held on Monday July 15 in Trathnona Community Centre at 7.30pm for those interested in helping at the Ballinamore Free Fringe Festival.
The festival is now in its third year and this August will see it expanding all directions entertainment wise with over 250 acts take to 11 stages throughout the town. The festival will also international acts along with artists from every county in the country make their way to Leitrim and make Ballinamore their home for the four day event.
Tracy Murray spoke of the excitement there is this year with the festival drawing attention from countries such Australia, Finland, Germany, UK and America making their way to Ballinamore. “We’re thrilled to welcome some fantastic talents from all across the world this year and I’m really excited about the reaction and feedback that is coming back from the other side of the world. The festival is all about creating a platform for entertainers to perform and it’s just so great to see such a fantastic buzz about Ballinamore and emails coming in from places such as far away as America and Australia asking to come play in Ballinamore. Also we’re thrilled to have such a huge number of musicians and artists travelling from all over the country and to think there are musicians from every county flying their county flag in Leitrim is such an honour. At this point, the festival plans are all well underway but I really need helping hands at this point just to make sure the 1200 performers who are coming to Ballinamore receive the best welcome possible. It just would be great to have more people involved and one thing I can promise is we’ll have a great old time together.”
