Trocaire and Ocean FM have launched a competition to find the best ‘Trad for Trocaire’ session in Sligo and Leitrim.

Trocaire and Ocean FM’s ‘North West Today’ show, which airs daily between 9am and 11am, have launched a competition this week, between Monday 16th and Friday 20th to find Sligo and Leitrim’s biggest and best ‘Trad for Trocaire’ session.

Trad for Trocaire week takes place from Friday, September 27 to Friday, October 4 and is run by Trocaire and Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann.

During this annual week, trad musicians and venues across Ireland are organising traditional ‘seisuins’, to raise funds for Trocaire’s work supporting people living in devastating poverty in the developing world.

This year Trocaire are hoping to host over 600 sessions to help fund many more Trócaire projects around the world.

From this week, the North West Today show is asking anyone that is organising a session to get in touch and to let them know why their session will be the most roof-raising event in the county!

The winning session will be visited by Ocean FM and broadcast live across the counties.

Tune into North West Today on Ocean FM each day this week to find out how to enter your Trad for Trocaire session in the competition.
