Monica Corish, SPARK Writer in Residence at the Leitrim Observer is hosting a creative writing workshop in Kinlough and Ballintrillick.

The Kinlough Women’s Writing Group will resume on Wednesday September 10, from 7 to 9.30 pm, with follow-on workshops on September 17, October 8 and 22, November 5 and 19, and December 3. This workshop is open to and welcoming of new members.

A new weekly writing workshop will start in the Benwiskin Centre, Ballintrillick on September 10 from 2.30 to 4.30 pm. This workshop is open to both men and women.

These workshops are an opportunity to discover and to develop your writing skills in a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. Monica Corish is an award-winning writer and trained AWA Writing Group Leader. All you need bring to the group is your notebook, your pen, and a willingness to be surprised by your own voice.

Monica is an award winning writer of poetry, short stories and creative non-fiction. She was shortlisted for the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award for a first collection, she won the 2013 North-West Words Poetry Prize, and she has been awarded writing bursaries by the Arts Council.
