Leonie Prax Productions are bringing the first preview of Lolita to The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton and The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon this month.
How do girls become women surrounded by the influence of modern society?
Meet Lola, a tweener. Lipgloss and lollipops, she dreams glitter and screams impatience. Electric guitar, disco ball, pumps or high heels?
Who is “Lolita” today? What are her dreams? What are her fantasies?
What is the definition of a “Lolita”? Who decides that a girl is a “Lolita”?
This is a first preview showing of this exciting new interdisciplinary work, created, directed and produced by Marie de La Guéronnière of Leonie Prax Productions, with a cast of performers and musicians including Marie de la Guéronnière, Aliina Lindroos, Brian Walsh, Colm O Hara, Donal Gunne, Laura Sarah Dowdall and Margie Lewis.
Co-directed by Deirdre Molloy and Charlotte Villermet. Designed by Charlotte Villermet. Inspired by Nabokov’s novel, this show will take you on an intriguing journey with music, dance and physical theatre.
This show is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland with assistance from The Glens Centre, The Dock, Draíocht and Civic Theatre.
