The Art Department at Sligo Institute of Technology, are delighted to be returning to The Dock with a survey exhibition of selected works from this year’s final year art BA (Hons) students.
The exhibition which runs from the Thursday 11th- Saturday 27th of June will showcase a diverse range of disciplines. The graduates who will exhibit use a variety of techniques and materials. Featured within the exhibition will be drawing, painting, ceramics, print, photography, film and mixed media installation combining to form a diverse and exciting show that will open on Thursday 11th June at 6pm.
Leitrim native Ramone Burthom-Booth who creates a politic commentary of the world we live in through the use of found and recyclable materials is one of those showing alongside Sligo natives Jeni Kennedy and Linda Cunningham, both students who take inspiration from the human body. Jeni works within the more traditional medium with paints and semi contemporary portraiture while Linda’s 3Demensional pieces are created from wires and circuitry.
The annual show is a great opportunity to look at the work of young artists who, it is hoped, will go on to forge successful careers as professional artists and also a great opportunity to perhaps purchase work that may well grow in value in the coming years.
