Vast array of artistic and cultural talent highlighted at inaugural awards night

Song, dance, the written word, drama and film making were among the diverse subjects recognised over the course of what proved to be a very enjoyable evening.

Tarmon’s Vincent Woods, who is well known to all as a poet, playwright and for his work with RTE Radio acted as MC and he helped set the tone when he got proceedings under way.

“On a night like this we are looking forward to the future and also to the ones who helped carried the traditions to us.

“The move in setting up these awards deserves great credit, it’s a great initiative. It is lovely to be here on the night of the Royal Wedding, I think I’ve seen as much style here and there will be far better music and entertainment,” joked Vincent.
