Some sunshine at Solas Art Gallery

The weather might not be what we would like for the Summer, but the Open Summer Exhibition at the Solas Gallery in Ballinamore is guaranteed to help raise the spirits.

The weather might not be what we would like for the Summer, but the Open Summer Exhibition at the Solas Gallery in Ballinamore is guaranteed to help raise the spirits.

Opening on Friday, July 20, this exhibition is open to all artists, members and non members. As usual the response to this show has been immense and there will be over 60 pictures to enjoy on your visit to the gallery. This exhibition has been selected by a panel and as every year the standard of the submissions gets higher, so the quality of the exhibition increases.

The mix of pictures range from watercolours, acrylics and oil paintings to drawings and photographs and the size from large to small. The artists involved come from many backgrounds, most now living in the North West of Ireland.

The Open Summer Exhibition will be launched at 7.30pm this Friday by Gabrielle Flynn. Gabrielle is the acting County Librarian based in Ballinamore. With a wide interest in all the arts and a talented artist herself it is appropriate that she has agreed to open this exhibition by so many diverse artists. The exhibition will run until 18th August. The Solas Gallery is above the Four Seasons Garden Centre, Main Street, Ballinamore.
