The Kilmore Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Cavan Town is hosting a fund-raising Vintage & Classic Car, Motor Cycle, Tractor and Machinery Display in the grounds of the Centre on Sunday 31 August from 11am to 6pm. The display is being organised in partnership with the local Breffni Vintage Club Ltd.
This is the first of a series of events being planned over the coming eighteen months to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Centre. It is hoped that the vintage display will become an annual event in the local calendar.
During the course of the day, a range of vintage and classic cars, motor cycles, tractors and machinery will be displayed in the grounds of the Centre. In addition, there will be face-painting and other activities for children in the afternoon. At 2pm musicians and performers from the local NYAH group in Cavan have kindly agreed to host an hour-long seisiun cheoil at the front entrance of the building with plenty of music, song and dance. There will also be a small World War I display and it is hoped to broadcast the All-Ireland Senior Football Semi-final between Donegal and Dublin on a big screen. Refreshments will be available throughout the day
Access to the Vintage Display will be via the St. Patrick’s College entrance beside Cullies Service Station by kind permission of the Board of Management and Principal.
