Sligo/North Leitrim based Senator Marc MacSharry has welcomed the announcement of the appearance of Van Morrison at Sligo Live this October bank holiday weekend.
Senator Mac Sharry, who is a founding director of the event and a current board member, said: “This is a significant attraction and a major scoop for Sligo Live. Van Morrison is an artist that almost every festival in the world would want to have as part of their line-up.” Mac Sharry went on to thank Van Morrison for considering Sligo Live to present his new Lyric’s and Poetry performance which the festival is deeply honoured to present. He also paid tribute to the Sligo Live organisers for securing such an extraordinary festival headliner this year.
Mac Sharry concluded: “It’s an exciting time to live in Sligo with a very visible growing community spirit in the town, something that everybody at Sligo Live strives to influence and encourage.”
