Leitrim Youth Theatre Company Carrigallen (Junior group) present the New Stage script, “Don’t shoot the Messenger” by John Morton, devised with Kilkenny Youth Theatre.

This short play set in a futuristic but desolate land. The adults are gone and the children are running this barren place. But all is not well. They have forgotten how they got here and even how long they’ve been here. They have divided themselves into four groups, the Learners, the Scavengers, the Mechanics and the Healers. They all want to be the leaders and it is left to Niamh, the messenger to liase between the feuding groups.

She doesn’t want to tell lies, well maybe just a little white one!

Oisin and Niamh know it’s time to get off the Island, but will the others listen?

Leitrim Youth Theatre gives young people a safe supervised space to come together socially and share their own unique and individual creativity and talents. LYTC offers all aspects of theatre skills from page to stage.
