A gala fashion show will be held in Dromahair on Thursday, June 14th for a very special cause.
Local man Gerard Fowley has been travelling for the past four years to south Africa to build houses with the Niall Mellon Trust and hopes to return there again later this year, for his fifth year.
With that in mind he has organised the gala fashion show at the Blue Devon function room in the village and it promises to be a really entertaining night.
TV3’s Noel Cunningham will compere the show and with Noel’s unique style, expertise and humour, it will be a fun night.
Also adding to the entertainment value will be Charlie McGettigan, the Eurovision song contest winner, who will entertain mid-way through the fashion show.
Some of the top designers and retail outlets in the north west have been secured for the show - they are: Events by Ray Michael; Ej’s Menswear, Sligo; Wallis, Sligo and Slevin’s Department Store Fashions, Ballyshannon.
All proceeds from the event will go towards funding Gerard’s work with the Niall Mellon Trust.
Gerard, who has given great support to his local GAA club, church and community over the years, was really taken by the poverty he witnessed first hand when he visited to the shanty towns in south Africa and has returned to offer his skills to ensure that new homes are provided for deserving families.
The show starts at 8.30pm and tickets (12 euro) are available directly from Gerard Fowley (086-8564282) and in local outlets in Dromahair and Ballintogher.
