Decrease in planning commencement notices

The latest edition of the National Housing Construction Index compiled and issued by Link2Plans (www.link2plans.com) has shown that Co Leitrim planning applications have stayed the same while commencement notices continue to decrease.

The study of planning application and planning commencement from January through to December 2012 show there was a 12% drop in commencement notices in Co Leitrim, from 65 to 57. Planning applications stayed the same as measured in 2011 at 129.

Nationally planning applications are down 17% and commencement notices are down 8%.
