Creating a stir with Chef Sham



From an award winning restaurant in Co. Leitrim, a new range of cooking sauces and condiments are about to go nationwide and create quite a stir. Shamzuri (Sham) Hanifa is originally from Malaysia but has been living in Ireland for15 years. He opened the award winning The Cottage Restaurant in Jamestown in 2008 where he and his team built a popular reputation and critical acclaim for producing contemporary Irish cuisine with an Asian fusion twist.

Personable and engaging, Sham is a very popular demonstration chef, much called upon for food festivals and events. Such is the reaction to using his own sauces in the demos he is about to launch his new range of convenient and totally delicious sauces and condiments called Chef Sham’s Sauce which add a wonderful flavour to any dish.

Developed and handmade in his restaurant, Chef Sham’s Sauces include a versatile One for All Sauce which is a flavoursome base to any Asian recipe, a Chilli Ketchup with a fiery kick that adds layers of flavour, a Sweet Chilli Sauce great with chicken or as a dipping sauce, a Balsamic Jelly which is an excellent accompaniment to a cheese board, a smoky Hoi Sin Sauce great with pulled pork, a Tomato Chilli Chutney that’s great with bread, a Fresh Sundried Tomato Paste that is the most delicious dip and a Fresh Basil Pesto that enhances dishes ranging from pastas to pizza!

It is no wonder the sauces are so full of flavour, they are made by hand in small batches. 100% natural with no artificial ingredients, no artificial preservatives, no flavourings or artificial colourings, no additives and no stabilizers, the sauces are made by Sham using the freshest ingredients some of which come from his own Cottage Polytunnel with other ingredient suppliers being sourced locally where possible. All of Chef Sham’s Sauces are suitable for vegetarians, are dairy free and are virtually fat free making them a great choice for those looking for a full taste healthy option. With the exception of the One for All Sauce and Hoi Sin, the products are also gluten free, so are suitable celiacs and those with gluten intolerances.

The sauces are currently available to buy locally in Synergy Café and Fresh today in Carrick on Shannon and also in The Cottage Restaurant with plans currently in place for a widespread roll out across the country in the coming weeks and months.
