The Hive, Carrick shortlisted for prestigous Irish RIAI Architecture Award

The Hive, Leitrim’s Technology and Enterprise Centre is one of 48 projects shortlisted for this year’s 25th RIAI Irish Architecture Awards.

The Leitrim Innovation and Growth Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon designed by Architect Frank Cooney was officially opened by Minister Richard Bruton last month.

Now in its seventh year, the popular Public Choice Award gives the public the opportunity to have their say by voting for their favourite shortlisted project, which has the honour of being named Ireland’s favourite new building. The public can vote online at www.riai.ie. Voting will close on June 19th at noon.

This year’s awards received close to 140 entries across 15 categories, including best commercial/retail, best conservation/restoration, best culture, best leisure, best educational and best health building, best house, best house extension and best housing project, best public space and best public building, best international project, best sustainable project and best universal design. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on June 24.
