Wind farms up for sale

A windfarm in Arigna is amongst a number of operational sites in Counties Roscommon, Sligo and Donegal which have been put up for sale.

The wind-farms belong to energy firm Viridian and have been formally put up for sale by the company’s Bahrain owner, Arcapita. Arcapita is a private equity firm which acquired Northern Ireland-based Viridian in 2006 for €3.2b. The equity firm has now hired the Royal Bank of Scotland to initiate the sales process and it is thought the assets could realise as much as €200m.
