Launch of 2013 Northwest Kings and Queens

Eamon Sweeney (South Leitrim) and Emma McPadden (North Leitrim) will be representing Leitrim Macra at the upcoming Northwest Kings and Queens event on the 26th January in the Sligo Park Hotel. They will be hoping to follow the footsteps of Josephine McManus (Northwest Queen 2010) and Mary Guihen (Northwest Queen 2012) to bring the Northwest Kings and Queens Crown back to Leitrim for a third time.

The Launch of the 6th Annual Northwest Kings and Queens event took place recently in the Sligo Park hotel. The organising committee are putting the final touches together for the event which is taking place at 7.30pm on Saturday 26th January.

The night will commence with a welcoming reception at 6pm for the “County Kings and Queens” where they will be introduced and paired into their teams for the novel event. At 7.30pm, the King and Queen teams will be welcomed to the Royal Banquet by the supporters attending in their honour. The Banquet is a chance for the Teams to learn more about each other. This will be tested in the series of novel tasks that follow. In the past, teams have been tested for their artistic skills, creative skills, quick thinking, listening, dance moves and teamwork. What will it be in 2013!! Following the Judges’ decision, the winning team will be crowned the “2013 Northwest Macra King and Queen”. They will receive a prestigious Crown, the coveted perpetual Trophy and be showered with gifts. Following the crowning ceremony, there will be partying and dancing till late with the renowned DJ Nugent.

Raffle tickets are currently on sale by Northwest Macra members for €5 each with money raised going towards the development of clubs and counties within the Region.
