Leitrim Rose Niamh Flanagan would like to thank everyone who supported her and sponsored her for the Rose of Tralee competition.

Getting back to normality after a very hectic few weeks, Niamh told the paper “I had an amazing experience when I was in Portlaoise made so many friends, the 53 other girls were all amazing, especially the Wexford Rose who I shared with for the four nights there. The experience was fantastic and I was so proud to represent Leitrim as the county rose 2012.”

Niamh had a long list of people she wanted to thank, including “my wonderful family and friends who supported me all the way and thank you to all who took time out to travel down for my special weekend, it meant so much to me.”

She also took time out to appreciate the people who sponsored her, “thanks to Aughawillan GAA for their kind donation, and also to St Mogues College, Bawnboy for their support.” Niamh works part time in Mulross Nursing Home in Kilclare, they sponsored her for the Leitrim Rose compeition and gave her huge support throughout the various events.

She had high praise and thanks for Georgina Mahon “who did all my make up and tan for the few weeks before Portlaoise,” her hairdresser Joanne Beirne and Cara Pharmacy “for the beautiful hamper I received from them.”

“Finally, a huge thanks to Eileen Abbott who made my wonderful dress for the night,” and all involved in the Leitrim Rose Committee.

“I really appreciated all the support I received from text messages, flowers and cards. I appreciate everything that was done for me. It was just a pity I did not get through the regional finals, but I did Leitrim proud and once a rose always a rose!” concluded Ms Flanagan.
