An event in Community Ballinaglera Hall this Friday, June 22 marks the culmination of a initiative taken by members of four different faiths in Leitrim, Fermanagh and Cavan, when James Klbane (of ‘You’re a Star’ fame) joins a choir made up of the Shanallen Singers and churches from all three counties for ‘Songs of Praise’.

The hymns will be introduced and sung and James Kilbane will join in and sing Gospel. The service will be followed by refreshments and a social.

For several months members of Roman Catholic, Church of Ireland, Methodist and Presbyterian churches have been meeting to learn hymns which are representative of and special to each faith and to discuss similarities and differences in all four faiths. The project gave everyone participating an opportunity to enjoy the singing, meet other groups of church singers and understand more about the respective faiths.

This initiative has been taken through the International Fund for Ireland’s 3CAP project (Ballinaglera in Leitrim, Boho and Killesher in Fermanagh) and the Rural Enabler Programme (Leitrim) funded under the European Union’s PEACE lll Programme though the Special EU Programme’s Body.

The event this Friday night commences at 8pm and all are very welcome to take part in and enjoy this unique Praise event.
