Toyota Ireland has launched its annual Dream Car Art Contest: a children’s art competition that celebrates Ireland’s artists, inventors and designers of the future.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing or painting their idea of a dream car. The contest, which has international heats across the world, is open to children up to the age of 15.

Toyota Ireland’s Managing Director, Dave Shannon said: We’re delighted to announce the kick-off of this year’s contest. In 2013, over 5,000 children from all corners of Ireland took out their crayons, pencils, markers and pastels to put their idea of a dream car down on paper. We were stunned by the creativity and talent of the entries and hope to see even more this year.”

Judging of the Dream Car Art Contest is split into three age categories - U-7, 8-11 years and 12-15 years - with three winners chosen from each category. This year, the overall winner from each category will win a Nintendo DS, while second runner up will win a digital camera and third will win an iPod nano.

The national winners from the three age categories will see their works of art go through to compete in the Toyota Dream Car Art Global Contest for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan.
