A true meeting of musical masters! Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see some of the best in the Irish traditional scene play together for the first time in The Dock on Wednesday, August 24.

The Dock have the perfect recipe for the ultimate Irish trad session. Take one Grammy Award and IBMA winner (Tim O’Brien), add “Probably the hottest name in Irish traditional music today” (Mike McGoldrick), next fold in the legendary Arty Mcglynn and simmer for 20 minutes. Finally add “Probably the best Bodhran player in the world” (John Joe Kelly) and serve. Perfect.

Singer and Songwriter Tim O’Brien brings together elements from different genres of music and judging by the fact he has released a colossal 13 albums on Sugar Hill Records this has been an incredible success. As well as winning many high profile awards such the Grammy Award he received in 2005 O’Brien also seems to receive praise from fellow artists wherever he goes.

Flute player Mike McGoldrick is widely acknowledged as one of the great flute players of all time. McGoldrick is constantly touring on the road with some of the greats of Irish trad music as well as touring with his own 9-piece band. In 2010 he shared the stage with Mark Knopfler and earlier this year with Transatlantic Sessions.
