Like everyone else you’ve probably sat watching Leonardo Di Caprio in the “The Man in the Iron Mask” and wondered “I wonder what it’s like to wear one of those?”
Well wonder no more as The Annual Charity Masquerade Ball in aid of the North West Simon Community is back on Sunday, June 3 in the new look Basement Club at Murtaghs Bar, Carrick-on-Shannon with doors open at 11pm.
Come along and kick off the summer in what always promises to be one of the best nights out in the Carrick social calendar. This year’s ball hopes to be bigger and better with excellent spot prizes for best dressed. If previous years are anything to go by this Ball attracts a lot of attention so now is the time to seek out that unusual and imaginative outfit. Last years ball was a phenomenal success with people dressed up as Jedward, The Rubber Bandits, Worzel Gummidge, the colourful and vibrant Lego Gang, the old gentleman and his wife and Kate & William made a grand entrance as did Bosco plus much much more.
So put Sunday night June 3 in your diary and get that costume ready for a good cause – your support is needed more than ever this year as the demand for the services of the North West Simon Community has risen dramatically. Music on the night will be provided by DJ Richie Burke. Tickets (€10) are available at the reception of the Courtyard Apartments beside Murtagh’s Bar, Carrick or by contacting Mary McKeon, Development Officer with North West Simon Community on 087 7708865, so get yours soon before they are all bought up!
There will be a family Fun day also at the Courtyard beside Murtaghs Bar on Sunday June 3 from 2-5pm with a Mini Masquerade Ball for kiddies, a pig on a spit, face painting, DJ and you can hire out a table for €15 if you wish to sell fresh baking, vegetables, bric a brac, books, etc with all money going to The North West Simon Community. If you want to reserve a table please contact Mary on 087 7708865. If you would like to volunteer at this Family Fun Day please contact Mary also.
