Following on from the success of the Inspirational Homes’ Green Door event last September a series of courses inspired by the houses showcased on the website and run by the featured builders, designers and homeowners will be held in the coming months.

Mike Harris who is running an eco-renovation and extension course at his home with his architect Colin Bell explained, “We thought that by running the course together (Mike and Colin) the participants would have the unique opportunity of hearing the self-builder and architect share their experience of working on a project together as well as communicating the reality of a self-build and the kind of support that one needs from your architect.”

The first course in the series was held on Saturday last, March 31 and was run by designer Gordon Ryan who is offered an introduction to Google Sketch-up.

Other courses include: Introduction to Cob, Establishing a Brief and Cooking from a Straw bale kitchen! Contact jo@inspirationalhomes.ie or see the website or Facebook for more details.

If you want to find out more about certain elements of designing, living, building and even cooking with sustainability in mind then these day long courses could be for you.
