Beezneez Theatre Company are in the final stages of preparation for their summer tour with Johnnie’s Britches which opens in Ramor Theatre, Virginia on Friday July 6.

Described by Artistic Director, John McDwyer as being as old as himself, Johnnie’s Britches is a lovely old Irish comedy which the company have discovered in the rehearsal process to be full of laughs and seems set to be another massive summer hit for the company.

Johnnie’s Britches was a national hit in the 1940’s and there were very few parishes which didn’t witness a production of the comedy.

It was brought to the attention of Beezneez by the late author’s daughter and was quickly identified as a play with the same qualities as A Wake in the West which was an enormous Beezneez hit.

Directed by John McDwyer, Johnnie’s Britches features regulars such as Gerry Farrell and Valerie Traynor and with Peter Davey making a welcome return to Beezneez, the company are looking forward to a terrific summer of laughter.

Certainly not a production to be missed and if you liked A Wake in the West, you will love Johnnie’s Britches.

Local dates to look out for on the tour are Hawk’s Well, Sligo (July 19 -21), Roscommon Arts Centre (July 24), Mohill (July 29), Tubbercurry (August 3) and The Dock, Carrick on Shannon (August 8-11).
