The Carrick Water Music Festival (June 25 - 30) is welcoming the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra to the festival marquee on Friday, June 28th.
This 18 piece big band orchestra will perform music from the ‘40s & ‘50s along with some more modern tunes.
In one night you can experience excitement, delicacy, humour, a rhythmic big noise, beautiful melodic small sounds and go home with a bounce in your step. You’ll find all this in the The Festival Marquee with the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra’s leader Ciaran Wilde leading his large ensemble as they perform compositions by Irish jazz composers and arrangements of music from the Great American Songbook.
The Dublin City Jazz Orchestra was begun as a big band by Ciaran Wilde and Ray Martin in 2007; since then then the DCJO has performed numerous concerts.
The orchestra features five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, piano, bass, drums and guitar all from professional full-time musicians who represent some of the finest in Europe.
Dublin City Jazz Orchestra - Friday June 28th in the Festival Marquee at 8.30pm.
Tickets are €25 / €30 includes Late Night Festival Club.
