After being knocked out of this year’s Connacht Championship, the Green and Gold now face into another series of qualifiers and top scorer Emlyn Mulligan hopes that the Qualifiers will bring the County a much needed boost.
Last year, Leitrim’s interest in the championship came to an end in the second weekend of July when Down got the better of Mickey Moran’s side but Emlyn is looking forward to the next round and hopes it can inspire and bring some much needed improvement to county morale. “We have to take positives from the Mayo game and regroup at training. We haven’t won a qualifier before and this is now our main aim and hopefully the draw is kind to us.
“Last year we got a tough one against Down away and we were beaten. We will be hoping for a home draw this time and something to build on because it will be a bit of progress for us.”
