The increasing costs of preparing County team, particularly players travelling expenses, is a growing concern for County Boards said Joe Flynn.
In his address, Joe said “The increased commitment to the welfare of our players results in a greater financial expenditure in preparing our teams. This expenditure is by far the greatest drain on our limited finances.
“The cost of fielding county teams and player travel in particular is a cause for concern and is an area that must be addressed in the coming year.”
Referring to Dublin’s recent sponsorship deal, Joe said “We struggle to make ends meet on the day to day running of the board and Capital Development is nearly impossible from within our own resources. We need a system that allows for special consideration; otherwise the rich will get richer while the poor will fall by the wayside.”
