A growing injury list was exacerbated last Sunday in Aughrim when Fergal Clancy’s breakout season with the County Senior team ended with a broken collar bone.

The Glenfarne/Kiltyclohger clubman had won himself an automatic starting spot in the Senior team with a series of top class displays in 2014 but a heavy collision with a Wicklow player, earning a free, brought the Leitrim man’s season to an immediate end.

Clancy could be out of action for anything up to three months and he joins fellow shoulder victim Cathal McCrann and Tomas Beirne on the sidelines. McCrann hopes to return to the Leitrim colours for the last game of the League but the loss of Beirne and Clancy will be sorely felt by Sean Hagan in the weeks ahead.
