One of the senior members of the victorious Dromahair team, goalkeeper Kieran Meehan was a satisfied man as he took in his side’s achievment last Sunday.
“It’s fantastic, there are a few here that have a lot of miles on the clock and have been playing for 10/15 years some of us. It has been a long time coming.
“Two years ago we thought we should have won it and then we got a surprise last year but we have been there or thereabouts for the last 6 or 8 years and it’s great to get over the line.”
Kieran waas particularly impressed with his six defensive team mates who put their bodies on the line for the cause.
“The six backs were excellent, that is the best performance I’ve seen all year.
“It makes it a lot easier in goals when I have those six men in front of men but in fairness everybody stood up today and it’s a great day for everyone.”
