New Leitrim manager Shane Ward will be a very busy man after the Leitrim GAA County Board confirmed his appointment as the new manager of the County Senior, U21 and Junior teams.

Ward’s appointment, along with that of selectors Brendan Drummond and Gregory Sweeney, was confirmed by delegates at Monday’s County Board meeting. All three were in charge of this year’s U21 team who recorded a first win in the Provincial championship since 1998 when they reached the Connacht Final.

The new management team will also be in charge of the U21 & Junior teams and County Board Chairman Joe Flynn told the Observer that Drumreilly’s John McKeon will be involved with training players based in Galway while there will also be training centres in Dublin and Limerick. It is expected that all three panels will train together.
