The Leitrim Senior and Intermediate Championship semi-finals will not take place next weekend after the Leitrim GAA County Board took the unprecedented decision to postpone the game’s due to the replayed All-Ireland Semi-Final.

In an email to clubs tonight (Monday), Leitrim GAA County Board Competitions Control Committee Secretary John Keenan told Clubs “Due to the unprecedented situation that has arose this weekend with the All-Ireland series, taking all into consideration the CCC in conjunction with the County Committee have arranged the following fixtures for the next two weeks.”

However, Leitrim GAA County Board also envisage sticking with their fixture plan with the County Final still fixed for Sunday, September 27, which means a two week run in to the final as Mr Keenan added “There is to be no deviation from this plan, due to the tight schedule involved.”

The next fixture list will see two double headers with Gortletteragh taking on Mohill in the Senior and Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s in the Intermediate on Saturday, September 12, with Champions Aughawillan facing Glencar/Manorhamilton and Intermediate favourites Melvin Gaels taking on Fenagh St. Caillin’s on Sunday, September 13.
