GAA to hold underage review

Leitrim GAA Coiste na nOg are to undertake a comprehensive review of underage structures in the county and are inviting clubs to make submissions ahead of a meeting in September.

Leitrim GAA County Board Coaching Officer Hughie Clinton has written to every club in the county seeking their opinions ahead of an underage review meeting scheduled for Monday, September 5, in the Bush Hotel Carrick-on-Shannon.

Former Leitrim manager John O’Mahony and Connacht GAA Coaching & Games Manager John Tobin will act as facilitators at the review meeting which will include a presentation regarding club nursery academies.

Topics to be covered include Club coaching and coach education, U8-10 blitz competition, Competition structures and How can we best achieve the highest level of competitive football for our underage players?

Club are asked to hold a discussion and come back with feedback to the County Board and appoint two people to attend the meeting who are involved with the development of underage coaching, games and structures within the club plus the club coaching officer.
