It was confirmed by the GAA yesterday evening that Leitrim’s third round championship clash with Laois will get underway this Saturday (July 21) at 7pm in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.

After last Saturday’s memorable three point win over Wicklow, Leitrim are in uncharted territory and will be hoping for a big home crowd to get behind the team to set up a possible meeting with the defeated Leinster Championship finalists.

The victory over Wicklow, in front of 3,346 supporters, saw Leitrim defend expertly and when chances fell their way James Glancy and Emlyn Mulligan both proved to be deadly accurate in front of the posts.

For full coverage of Leitrim’s historic win over Wicklow including interviews with the management team that oversaw the breakthrough win, the players who achieved the win and one former Leitrim manager who was as happy as anyone in Pairc Sean, be sure to see tomorrow’s Leitrim Observer.
